Accounting Administrator

Our client in the Automotive Manufacturing industry is seeking a highly motivated Accounts Payable Clerk for their location in Guelph, Ontario. The ideal candidate would have experience working in a business environment at a small manufacturing firm, handling both Accounts Payable and Office Administration duties.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor`s degree in Business preferred
  • Minimum of two years current working experience with SAGE 50 Premium is a must, without compromise
  • Experience with Microsoft Access 2016, with the knowledge of how to manoeuvre within the program and build reports
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel (2010 version or greater)
  • Experience working with NAFTA, brokerage and meeting shipping requirements
  • Experience with MISys is an asset, or willing to be trained to use this program in conjunction with SAGE 50
  • Background in inventory is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of FedEx Ship Manager Software, or willing to learn for cross training
  • Strong background in purchasing and receiving
  • Self-starter that is capable of working within a small team and reporting to multiple people
  • Must have high responsibility and ownership for assigned tasks
  • Strong Business writing skills with the ability to be very detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast paced small manufacturing environment

Job Duties

  • Answer phones when necessary
  • Delegate calls to appropriate person when necessary
  • Be able to take sales orders via phone and input orders into the system
  • Input expenses as they come-in and compare them against credit card accounts and vendor invoices
  • Understand General Ledgers with the ability  to identify when the GL is wrong and corrections should be implemented
  • Receive orders and convert them into invoices
  • Check pricing on components and release them
  • Receive orders from vendors and arrange the best and most cost effective method of shipping
  • Other office administration duties as required
  • Reconciliation of Credit Card statements
  • Monitoring Trial Balance Credit Card Receivables and keeping balanced
  • Month-end Customer Statements
  • Monitoring Accounts Payable Summary for any outstanding items and organizing payables by terms and providing for processing.
