Our client, a Not for Profit therapeutic community in Guelph needs a full time, permanent Bookkeeper to join their team. 

 Our client works together with individuals, families and communities impacted by substance use and co-occurring mental health issues to restore hope, dignity and self-respect and to support ongoing opportunities for positive change and growth.  This role comes with full company paid benefits and other desirable benefits not usually found in roles of this type.

 This role reports to the Finance Manager and involves the following responsibilities:

  • Performing various bookkeeping duties such as A/P and reconciling various Visa accounts.
  • On Boarding all new employees
  • Scheduling all employees into Ceridian Dayforce
  • Assisting with payroll using Ceridian Dayforce and Powerpay
  • Assist in orientation of all new employees as it applies to scheduling and payroll
  • Maintain Master Schedule and various trackers
  • Assist Finance Manager with Resident Fund Activities (including Federal Allowance, Inventory and purchasing)
  • Filing and providing general administrative support to Finance Manager
  • Other duties as required

 Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or administration
  • Three to five years full cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in working with multiple funders and recording transactions to various classes
  • Working knowledge of payroll administration
  • Experience with Dayforce or Powerpay and asset
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced office environment
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in a not for profit setting is an asset
  • CSC security clearance is required for this position
  • Have superior interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with ease
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to work with deadlines
  • Excellent oral, written business correspondence
  • Experience working with a not for profit organization preferred
